Indian Dresses: Traditional Ethnic Wear for All Occasions

India is a land of diverse cultures, rituals, and practices but we unify on one thing- our love towards Indian Ethnic dresses. Though the traditional dresses of each state vary from each other, there is something that unites us, and that is probably the vibe of getting dressed up in ethnic Indian clothes.

Even after having different dresses across the country, Indian women have shortlisted it to three outfits- Saree, Lehenga, and Salwar Suits. Let’s face the truth now, even after being in jeans and tops the whole year, we end up donning Ethnic Wear and dress up on every occasion.

Check out our favourite Indian Traditional Dresses that are perfect for any occasion.

Indian Saree:-

Saree is one of the best options among the traditional dresses for Indian Women. It is a five or nine yards long (the nine yards one is most commonly worn) one piece of cloth which is two to four feet wide. Indian Sarees are available in varieties of material like Silk, Chiffon, Cotton, Crepe and more. There are many styles of draping a saree like Maharashtrian style, Bengali style and others. Commonly it is wrapped around the waist from one end and another end is draped over the shoulder. The one draped over the shoulder is called the pallu..

Lehenga:

Lehenga is another popular Indian wedding dresses. Lehenga is essential wedding wear for many of the Indians at their weddings. Lehenga is a long, flared skirt that can be paired with a Choli/blouse and even with Kurti. This ethnic wear is a three-piece ensemble along with a Dupatta. This Indian Wear is available in various colours and designs, embroidered or embellished. These are mostly available in rich fabrics, giving a stunning look.

Salwar Kameez:

One of the most comfortable Indian Dresses is a Salwar Kameez. In today’s fashion, it is one of the most commonly worn traditional dresses for women in India. That is why there are many options available like Kurti-Churidaar, Salwar Suit, Palazzo Suits, Anarkali Suits, Pants with Kurti, Patiala Salwar and many more.
